Korean Customs Clearance Information
Duty-Free Eligibility
Household goods shipments to Korea may qualify for duty-free clearance if they meet customs criteria for returning residents. See above or Korea Customs Service guidelines.
No In-Person Visit Required
In-person customs visits are not required. Submit the requested documents to COSHIP Korea, and our team will handle the clearance process on your behalf.
Additional Customs & Warehouse Fees
Customs warehouse fees and related charges apply in Korea. Detailed costs and procedures will be explained during consultation.

Check these items before your international move
Before Packing Checklist
- Check the passport validity of all family members traveling abroad
- If any passport has less than 6 months remaining, renew it and send the photo page to your COSHIP representative
- Separate items to be shipped from items to be left behind
- If you live in an apartment or condo, confirm move notice and elevator reservation requirements
- If shipping a refrigerator, unplug and empty it about 3 days before packing
- Secure truck parking space in advance on moving day
- Keep passports, tickets, important documents, jewelry, and cash separate from the shipment
After Packing Checklist
- Inform your COSHIP representative if your departure schedule changes
- Confirm and provide your final address, contact number, move-in date, and preferred delivery date
- If your address is not confirmed, provide a friend’s or relative’s contact information
- If you require cargo insurance, contact your representative before shipment for availability and instructions
Before Local Delivery Checklist
- Confirm elevator reservation requirements if you live in an apartment or condo
- Check if a ladder truck is required (additional cost may apply)
- Inform your representative in advance if any of the following apply:
- Parking or loading area is far from the entrance or no elevator is available
- Heavy items must be moved to upper floors, basement, or via unusual stairs
- Truck cannot access directly in front of the residence (e.g., narrow streets)
- Notify your representative in advance if you cannot receive the shipment immediately (storage fees may apply)
