Interprovincial Moving FAQ
Car shipping, import, export, and customs-related questions
How are inter-provincial moving costs determined?
Moving costs are generally calculated based on the total volume of your shipment. Other factors such as the working environment, delivery location, and whether you require professional packing services also influence the final price.
How can I get a quote?
You can request a consultation via phone, email, or our website. We will provide a customized quote after confirming your volume and schedule.
How does the consultation process work?
Once you request a consultation via phone, email, or our website, we confirm your moving volume and schedule to provide a custom quote. If necessary, we offer in-person estimates or photo reviews for accuracy.
Are in-home estimates available?
We offer in-person estimates for customers in the Vancouver and Toronto areas. For other regions, we can provide a quote after reviewing photos of your items via email.
When should I start preparing for my move?
We recommend booking your consultation at least 1 to 2 months in advance. Since June through August is peak moving season, early planning is highly encouraged.
How long does a long-distance move take in Canada?
Transit times vary depending on the origin and destination. For example, a move between Vancouver and Toronto typically takes about 3 to 4 weeks. Schedules may shift due to distance, seasonal weather, and internal transport schedules.
What cities do you serve?
COSHIP supports inter-provincial moves between major cities across Canada, including Vancouver, Calgary, and Toronto.
Who is responsible for booking the condo elevator?
The customer is responsible for reserving the elevator through the building management office at both the origin and destination locations.
Do you offer storage services?
Yes. Customers using COSHIP’s moving services receive up to one month of free storage. Additional fees apply for longer durations.
Why should I choose COSHIP?
Unlike standard movers, we use an international-grade packing system and a nationwide logistics network. Since 2007, we have provided stable relocation services for both private households and corporate employees.
Do I need to pack my items myself?
You can pack daily household items yourself. However, large furniture and appliances are handled by COSHIP’s professional team. We also offer a Full Packing Service upon request.
Are moving boxes and packing materials provided?
Yes. We provide the necessary boxes, bubble wrap, and tape for our customers. Our professional team handles the packing for large furniture and appliances.
Is professional packing required for long-distance moves?
Professional packing is highly recommended for item protection. COSHIP uses export-grade standards to protect furniture and appliances during long-distance transit.
Can you move large appliances?
Yes. We safely transport large appliances, including Kimchi refrigerators, freezers, TVs, and LG Stylers, using specialized packing.
Can I ship plants or food?
There are no legal restrictions within Canada, but we advise caution as long transit times may lead to spoilage or damage to these items.
What happens if an item is damaged during the move?
In the event of damage, compensation is processed according to COSHIP’s internal standards after reviewing the extent and circumstances of the damage.
Is cargo insurance available for inter-provincial moves?
Securing separate cargo insurance for domestic long-distance moves is often difficult in Canada. To mitigate this, COSHIP protects your belongings using export-grade packing methods and specialized materials.
